Covestro is one of the world's largest polymer producers, formerly known as Bayer Materials Technology in Germany. It separated from Bayer in September 2015 and was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on October 6 of the same year, becoming an independent listed company.
After independent listing, Covestro's business scope mainly focuses on the production and manufacturing of high-tech polymer materials, as well as the research and development of innovative solutions for various daily life fields. The service areas cover the automotive and transportation, construction, furniture and wood processing, as well as the electronics, electrical and home appliance industries, as well as the sports and leisure, cosmetics, medical, and chemical industries themselves. In 2020, the company's sales reached 10.7 billion euros. As of June 30, 2021, Covestro has 50 production bases and approximately 18000 employees worldwide.
